#1 Art Critique

Brianna Seawood recreated the art piece Thérèse Dreaming. The sleeping tiger stands out most to me when I first look at the artwork. The tiger stands out because it is bright orange and everything else is mostly green. It also stands out because it's the largest thing in the picture. Nothing really leads my eye around because the background is only green, but the stripes on the tiger cause my eyes to move around a little. The feelings represented in this artwork are vulnerability and peace. I would title it Sleeping Tiger because that is what stands out the most to me. Color was used everywhere in this artwork. In the stripes of the tiger, the food and water bowl, the sleeping girl, and the grass. Orange signifies the boldness, strength, and energy of the tiger (even though it was sleeping). The green signifies peace and serenity. I think the artist chose to recreate this artwork because I know she has an interest in animals, more specifically tigers. I think the overall recreation is really good. I like how she turned the small cat into a big tiger, because it changed the original completely and gave me a different perspective on the piece. Overall I think it was a really good recreation.
